INTRODUCTION TO THE WEB VERSION OF THE CONSTITUTION

This electronic version of Sri Lanka’s Constitution incorporating all amendments [made up to 20th December 2000] was formulated by the Policy Research & Information Unit of the Presidential Secretariat. It is based on the year 2000 reprint ‘The Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka’ published by the Parliament of Sri Lanka.

We have also included the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Amendments to the Constitution separately. It was published as a Supplement to Part II of the Gazette of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka of October 5, 2000.
