The People's Alliance Trade Union Committee has expressed its grief at the unfortunate incident, which occurred in the plantations. The sources revealed that the TU committee identified the cause of this unruly situation was created by some opportunistic political group which tried to damage the economy and ethnic harmony by inciting innocent workers taking cover behind the Bindunuwewa incident. Further they strongly condemned the Bindunuwewa massacre. And in a message issued on Monday the committee has requested the people at large and the plantation workers in particular to act in unison in an intelligent manner.
