LTTE attacks innocent civilians

At Chenkalady terrorists simultaneously engaged Black Bridge Army detachment and Chenkalady Police Post with mortars and small arms on 05 November around 8pm. The police personnel who faced the attack, retaliated with small arms. However five innocent civilians received injuries due to terrorist mortar fire. 

During the past seventeen years the LTTE has taken many lives of the innocent including women and small children. The most ironical fact is that the very people who fight for the liberation of the Tamils have destroyed many Tamil intellectuals as well as the innocent Tamil civilians who did not cooperate with them. 

Two soldiers at Bridge Army detachment too received minor injuries during the confrontation.

On November 05^th troops confronted small groups of terrorists and engaged them with small arms at Madduvil South and Kilaly areas. Two terrorists lost their lives due to the confrontation.

On the same day a soldier who received severe injuries at Nagarkovil in a terrorist mortar attack succumbed to his injuries after admission to Palaly Army Hospital.

Meanwhile terrorists fired mortars at troops manning defences in Sarasalai South and Eluthumadduval yesterday during the daytime.  The troops retaliated with mortars. However two soldiers were wounded due to terrorist fire.
