Opposition leader welcomes President's address in the parliament

Yesterday, the Opposition Leader welcomed the President's address at the 11th Parliament summit on Last Thursday. He announced, Prtesident’s speech as a good bridge building exercise with the Opposition. The modalities for discussions with the LTTE she proposed in her speech should be arranged after discussions with him, Tamil parties and their MP's representing the Northern Region.
Meanwhile, the PAFFEREL drew out a mass petition at the Opposition Leaders office at the Cambridge place, Colombo yesterday. The petition was to submit to the government and all the other political parties, in according to call for regulations to ensure a free and fair elections.
Addressing the Media at the above event in the Opposition Leader's office, the Opposition Leader Ranil Wickramasinghe stated the General Elections clearly showed the PA mandate of seven provinces, JVP becoming the third force and the and the capture of Tamil political parties in the Northern Province.
Mr. Wickramasinghe further stated the vitality of adjoining the TULF, TELO and other Tamil political parties for discussions to find a solution for the ongoing problem. He further said that "I am eagerly waiting for a response to from the government to convene such a meeting the Tamil political parties."
