British Foreign Office Minister to visit Sri Lanka

British Foreign Office Minister Peter Haim is to visit Sri Lanka from 22-23 November at the request of the Sri Lankan government, sources revealed.

This will be Mr. Haim's first visit to Sri Lanka since becoming Foreign Office Minister.

He is to meet Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar and is also scheduled to deliver a speech at the British Council.

Mr. Hain was elected Labour MP for Neath at the by-Election on 4th April 1991. He was also Labour Foreign Affairs Whip from 1995-1997, Shadow Employment Minister between 1996 and 1997 and was appointed Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth office on 28th July 199.
