All major TU’s of Ports Authority assure fullest cooperation

All the major trade unions of the Ports Authority have assured Minister of Ports Development, Ronnie de Mel of their fullest cooperation, to make the port more efficient, sources said.

A recent meeting was held with the ports branches of the Sri Lanka Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya, the Jathika Sevaka Sangamaya, the National Unity Alliance and the Executive Officer’s Association of the Port.

Minister de Mel, while stressing that the Colombo Port was not the personal property of any individual group or government, said it was the responsibility of every body to safeguard the port. He also said there should not be any politics in the port.
