LTTE lost DMK’s sympathy long ago
[22 Nov 2000]

“Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi had declared that Tigers have lost the sympathy of DMK long time ago and they will not consider any requests to ease the party’s ban on LTTE”, media reports said.

DMK has lost their sympathy for the LTTE when they killed EPRLF leader Padmanabha and the late Prime Minister Rajiv Ghandhi.  He stated this view at a media conference held in Chennai, while announcing his decision to launch a massive operation by the Special Task Force [STF] to nab the forest brigand Veerappan.

Hundreds of STF men, who are specially trained to combat terrorism and guerrilla militancy stated to march in to the deep forest of Sathyamangalam last Monday to nab Veerappan, who last week released the Kannada matinee idol, Rajkumar from his 109 day captivity.  The STF has been warned of the LTTE manpower of the LTTE to cover the Tamil extremist Sandalwood smuggler from the STF net.

Intelligence and other security agencies have been on the alert to monitor possible LTTE infiltration into demonstration organised by several NGO’s and Tamil extremist groups tomorrow.  The demonstrations are to be held in several cities in South India demanding action against  “the atrocities” committed by the STF against Tamil extremist activists.
