Including an LTTE suicide bomber, ten LTTE cadres were taken in to custody by a special Police team in a series of lightning raids in the Uva province and the Kalawanchikudy area in the Batticaloa district. A load of high explosives; two hundred grams of C4 plastic explosives, several components of timing bombs also recovered by the Police. ‘Radio Rajah’ one of the suspects who are in custody now had been involved in recruiting estate workers to the LTTE organization. Police said that the LTTE suspects used to transport the explosives in small quantities concealed in their shoes. One of them who pretended to be a lame person had used crutches to go about. A special Police team of the Passara Police are conducting further investigations.
