Sri Lanka has braced itself against any unforeseen LTTE threats during the so-called National Heroes Week where the terrorists are to celebrate their leader's birthday by destroying human lives and using other means of causing panic and agony among the Sinhalese as well as the minority people. One incident that prevented such a major disaster was the detection of a TNT high powered bomb weighing 10 kilograms in a peoplised depot bus that was due to ply from Chilaw to Negombo on Saturday night. During the search for the bomb, police have also arrested 12 Tamils suspected of having LTTE connection. "The public is very supportive to help us to be vigilant during this period", security authorities revealed. Past incidents have revealed the way the LTTE leader celebrates his birthday with massive blood baths. Therefore, not only the people in the south, but also those who are in the north and east including minorities who are living in areas under military control remain vigilant for any surprise attacks.
