LTTE suffers major losses

The LTTE revealed recently that they have lost the lives of 1742 cadres including 253 suicide cadres in attacks so far this year, which was a major loss for their organisation according to the sources.

Further 16,333 LTTE cadres were killed in action since 1982, the LTTE said in a special statement released to mark their "Heroes Day".

In 1999 alone the LTTE had lost over 1543 cadres which shows that they are now in a militarily weak position. 

However the sources revealed that this report exclude the number of child soldiers the LTTE lost due to the on going battle in the North and East.
