Moscow based LTTE leader arrested [02 Dec 2000]

A Tiger leader called Nimal Sivalingam based in Moscow was arrested by the police when he arrived in Katunayake recently.

It is alleged that he collects at least Rs. 5 million a month from Tamils in Russia for arms procurement.

The 30 year old LTTE cadre is suspected to be a senior hard core LTTE leader deployed in Russia to collect funds for the activities of LTTE terrorists from the Tamils in the country.
