LMD nominates Susanthika as "Sri Lankan of the Year"

Sri Lanka's pioneering business and leisure magazine, the Lanka Monthly Digest (LMD) has nominated Olympic Bronze medallist Susanthika Jayasinghe as its year-2000 "Sri Lankan of the Year".


Susanthika follows a impressive line-up of past "Sri Lankans of the Year", viz. Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar in 1995; the World-cup winning cricket team in 1996; current Sri Lankan cricket captain Sanath Jayasuriya in 1997; Chairman of leading conglomerate, John Keells, Ken Balendra in 1998; and Ceylinco chief Lalith Kotelawala last year.
