Interpol issued wanted notices yesterday, on the LTTE leader, Velupillai Prabakaran and several other senior LTTE cadres including Pottu Amman, Selliah and Charles. These persons are accused of being involved in mass killings, terrorism and terrorism conspiracy. According to Interpol sources, arrest warrants have been issued from Colombo, Sri Lanka and Chennai, India. The Interpol appeals to all who have information to contact the respective national police or the General Secretariat of Interpol. The LTTE mastermind and his ‘Heroes’ also are wanted for trafficking of children, drugs and vehicle crime offences. Today, Prabakaran is the most wanted man in India as well as in Sri Lanka. He and his organisation has caused death to thousands of innocent civilians in Sri Lanka including late President R. Premadasa and late minister C. V. Goonaratne. Prabakaran has employed an LTTE female suicide cadre to kill late Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Another LTTE female assassin killed Sri Lankan Presidential candidate Gamini Dissanayake in 1994. On another occasion, the LTTE attempted on the life of President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunge during last Presidential elections.
