LTTE activities under strict scrutiny in Bangalore
[05 Dec 2000]

The State Government of India had directed all the police stations in Bangalore city and its surrounding to monitor the activities of the supporters of the banned terrorist group, Liberation Tigers of Tamil Elam (LTTE), which is fighting a ruthless battle to win a separate Tamil homeland in Sri Lanka, sources revealed.

The Intelligence Departments of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and the Union Government had collected some information about the alleged connection between Veerappan - the kidnapper of the Kannada matinee idol, Rajkumar- and the LTTE.

When analysing the LTTE's alleged connections with these terrorist groups in India, the image LTTE was picturing, as the rebel group fighting for the liberation of an oppressed minority group in Sri Lanka becomes a complete farce.
