The SAARC nations urged to convene the eleventh summit, which was cancelled in November 1999 following tension between India and Pakistan over Kargil and army take over in Islamabad, sources reported. Meanwhile the first meeting of the Citizens' Commission for South Asia that ended yesterday in Sri Lanka urged the SAARC to adhere to its schedule. The meeting was chaired by the former Indian Prime Minister K.Gujral. The former Pakistan Foreign Minister said the member countries should " put moral pressure on SAARC nations to hold the summit in time". The main obstacle to hold the summit seems to disappear when Pakistan ordered its troops to restrain in view of the cease-fire announced by India on the eve of Ramazan, the reports revealed.
