President CBK meets World Bank Vice President

President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga met the World Bank, Vice President yesterday morning and held discussions on the Sri Lank government’s vision and plan for the next six years, sources said.


Constitutional Affairs and Industrial Development Minister and Deputy Finance Minister Prof. G L Peiris also briefed a team of World Bank officials yesterday.

According to senior officials, the donor countries and agencies have firmly indicated their fullest support to the government’s initiatives on the four main areas under discussion and to its commitment to establish peace in the country.

Other participating countries and Agencies include Germany, Italy, Japan, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Korea, Netherland, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Asian Development Bank, European Commission, European Investment Bank.
