[21 Dec 2000]

Twenty four hour round the clock naval security have been tightened along the cost from Kalpitiya to Panadura following the reports that sea tigers were to launch attacks in these costal areas.

According to the security intelligence reports Negambo and Wattala costal areas are the most possible targets where the Sea Tigers would launch attacks.

Naval security in Diyawanna Oya around the parliamentary complex have also been tightened.

Further the security sources have not ruled out the possibility of Tiger cadres from Mannar arriving in Kalpitiya or Puttalam under the guise of fishermen or civilians as a plan to travel to Colombo to carry out attacks.
