Seven hard core LTTE terrorists were arrested in Vavuniya yesterday morning by a special police squad at the Mount Lavinia Police. Several weapons and bombs were found in the possession of the suspects, who are alleged to have connections with LTTE leaders in Colombo. According to investigations, three of the seven suspects now in Police custody are suicide bombers. Police also revealed that the LTTE suspects have been involved in a number of killings in Colombo and Batticaloa. Meanwhile, a special Police team in the Western Province is now trying to trace the men who had assisted the LTTE suspects to commit crimes in Colombo.
