Bangladesh Air chief visits Sri Lanka

Chief of Air Staff, Bangladesh Air Vice Marshal Jamal Uddin Ahamed is on a visit to Sri LanKa on an invitation by the Sri Lanka Air Force Commander Air Vice Marshal Jayalath Weerakkody, arrived here yesterday.

According to the available information he is due to pay courtsy calls on President Chandrika Kumaratunga, Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayake, Deputy Defence Minister Anuruddha Ratwatte, Secretary Ministry of Defence Chandrananda de Silva and Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Navy.

During his stay in the island he will visit SLAF bases at Katunayaka, Anuradhapura and Diyatalawa and also the historic sites at Sigiriya and Anuradhapura.

Sources revealed that the Air chief will also visit Kandy and pay homage to the Dalada Maligawa

The delegation will leave Sri Lanka on January 6.
