A group of student entrepreneurs of the Colombo Medical Faculty has helped "Webstation", a leading web hosting service provider in Sri Lanka, to develop the country's first web based e-consultation service taking the doctor-patient relationship to the super highway. This web site is an innovative approach to introduce the concept of Tele-Medicine to Sri Lanka in a form, which is more fitting to the existing system of medical consultations in the country. It is aimed at providing medical advice and knowledge to a clientele ranging from general public to Specialist Consultants using the latest communication facilities such as Internet, e-mail, etc. This e-consultation web portal will also have the facility to webcast audio & video in RealAudio and RealVideo formats in the near future.
