A civilian has made a complaint to Valachchenai Police about a robbery in Oddamavadi by LTTE terrorists. According to the complaint, a group of 20 terrorists had entered to a shop owned by a Muslim in Valachchenai on 03 January morning. They have stole garments, clocks and radio sets from the shop and have escaped to Nachivantivu island in northwest of Valachchenai. The total lost estimated around Rs. 51,525. Battacalo Police is conducting further investigations. On 02 January, troops on clearing patrol in Chiviyatheru west about 11/2 km north of Colombuthurai recovered one 81 mm mortar bomb and two hand grenades. Nagarkovil, Nunavil and Eluthumadduvil areas were under terrorist mortar fire during the daytime of 02 and 03 January. In Eluthumadduvil, one soldier received minor injuries due to mortar fire on 02 January.
