LTTE suffers foreign funds shortages
[05 Jan 2001]

The LTTE is experiencing a shortage of foreign funds since the LTTE has been declared a terrorist organisation by the US government and also by the Canadian government in 1997/98.

This is a crippling blow to the Tiger fund raising in USA and Canada, considering the fact that the other countries too are coming down heavily on their activities, informed sourced reported.

LTTE funds from abroad have been dwindling since this exposure, which has caused concern among the higher ups of the terrorist organisation.

This has prompted United Tamil Organisation (UTO) based at the LTTE’s London secretariat to post leaflets to Tamil residents there appealing for contributions. In order to collect money, they have now resorted to organising games such as football tournaments, dances, concerts, screening of video films and other activities.
