The killing of Attorney at law, D N Padmaperuma at Avissawella Court premises was thoroughly investigated by the Avissawella Police. The lawyer was shot dead in the premises, and eight suspects have been arrested in connection of the particular crime and number of other armed robberies. At the arresting time of the chief suspect Hettiarachchige Dimuth Saranga was shot dead when the suspect tried to hit a bomb at the Police. The investigations revealed that Dimuth Saranga as an accomplice for the murder. Among the arrested suspects a woman, who happens to be the wife of the chief suspect, stolen goods and ammunition were also found.
