Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar yesterday requested the Mauritius Government to be more vigilant on LTTE fund-raising and activities on their soil. Further the Minister urged the Mauritius Government to crackdown on Tiger activities in their country. He was of the view that Tiger fund-raising activities were being held in Mauritius on a considerable level. The visiting Minister assured his Government's fullest cooperation in this regard, the sources revealed. The visiting Foreign Minister also pledged his country's support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Sri Lanka. Minister Kadirgamar thanked Mauritius for preserving the tomb of Ehelepola Nilame, who was exiled there by the British. The last house he lived in is now a museum. Meanwhile, the Tamil World Hindu Congress is to be held later this year in Mauritius. Intelligence agencies have warned that a large number of LTTE sympathisers would try to take advantage of this parley to infiltrate Mauritius.
