Tamil politicians have sought an appointment with Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to discuss the condition of the Tamil civilians who live amidst the ongoing war. A deputation comprising representatives of several moderate Tamil political parties met the Indian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka to sought a meeting with the Indian premier and handed over a memorandum addressed to the Indian Prime Minister. A spokesman for the deputation reveals that they were going to meet the Indian Opposition leader Sonia Gandhi as well. He said they would meet other leaders of national political parties in India and Tamilnadu.
