The crimes Detection Bureau will be replaced by the Devitional Crimes Detection Bureau with its headquarters in Colombo,the sources revealed. Sources revealesd that the new unit would be expanded and more police officers enlisted to combat increasing wave of crime. The Acting Director General of Police revealed that the CDB had to be shut due to the complaints received that certain officials attached to the CDB were enjoying undue privilages.
