A small panic was aroused at the Pettah Central Bus terminal yesterday morning due to a suspicious parcel being found by the bomb disposal unit, local newspaper reports revealed. The bomb disposal unit defused two hand grenades after clearing the crowd, Pettah Police said. The parcel, which was found near the Kataragama bus queue, contained two booby-trapped grenades whose pins were broken. Officers at the police post had informed the Pettah OIC who arrived at the scene and cleared the crowd.
