The International Committee of the Red Cross handed over twenty bodies of the LTTE at the Kalmunai point yesterday, sources revealed. The bodies had been handed over to the ICRC by the army from the Teaching Hospital in the Jaffna peninsula. The ICRC had transferred the bodies in fishing boats from Gurunagar Jetty to Kalmunai Point. Tigers suffered heavy losses in the face of advancing troops with the launch of Kinihira IX. According to LTTE transmissions 52 terrorists were said to have been killed and over 72 injured in the fierce fighting. Among the dead terrorists is believed to be a Tiger leader.
