Army Commandos begin massive recruitment drive

With the ongoing military offensive in the north to capture the strategically located Elephant Pass, the Army has moved another step ahead with its' massive recruitment drive at 22 centres islandwide for its elite commando regiment from March 1 to 31. 

The army has called for male applicants for interviews at these centres to join the Commando regiment, whose motto is 'Nothing is Impossible'. 

Commandos who take part in the most dangerous military offensives, undergo a rigorous programme which includes basic training, advanced training, hostage rescue, VIP protection, junior leadership, weapons and mortar training, signals, computer usage and intelligence gathering. Advanced courses are also available abroad.
