SLMC and NUA appoints new party leaders

After the tragic death of former minister and leader of Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) and National Unity Alliance (NUA) M. H. M. Ashraff, the two parties appointed two new leaders to guide them.

Minister of Internal and International Commerce, Shipping Development and Muslim Religious Affairs Rauf Hakeem was unanimously elected as SLMC leader and NUA General Secretary.

Minister of Development and Reconstruction of the East and Rural Housing Ferial Ashraff was also elected unanimously as NUA leader.
