The UNP's five-day protest march will reach Colombo under tight security, today. Tyronne Fernando, a senior member of the main opposition United National party, said " the police were very co-operative. " A large number of police personnel have been deployed to provide security to the protest march. Meanwhile he requested the security forces to co-operate with the protest march, "Janabala Meheyuma" (operation Peoples' Power). Meanwhile inquiry into the alleged attack on the UNP protest march at Kegalle is currently underway said the Deputy Defence Minister Anuruddha Ratwatte yesterday in Parliament. The Minister further informed the House that one arrest had been made in connection with the incident, the sources reported. While UNP took to the streets with "Janabala Meheyuma" in Colombo, the LTTE continued their attacks harming innocent people living in other areas.
