Emergency extended

The Emergency was extended in Parliament yesterday by a majority of 89 votes with 107 voting for and 18 against.

The EPDP and CWC voted with the Government while the JVP, TULF, TELO and the ACTC voted against.

The UNP abstained from voting while the Sihala Urumaya was absent.
