Minister of Foreign Affairs Lakshman Kadirgarmar met Heads of Sri Lankan missions from the Western Hemisphere and briefed wide range of issues in Colombo, yesterday. The meeting will take place till 14th of February. The objective of the meeting is to discuss matters relating to Political situation in the country, Sri Lankan foreign relations and its connection with SAARC and certain other bilateral, multi lateral organisations. To meet this objective, arrangements have been made to present and brief the Heads of Missions, by Senior Officials from government institutions and private organisations on current developments in the areas of trade and investment, security situation of the country, information technology, rehabilitation and reconstructions in North and East. The Foreign Minister stated, essence of the objective is to make missions be intimated of the socio-economic and political developments in Sri Lanka with an emphasis to the issues related to the foreign policy of Sri Lanka.
