Whole nation salutes War Heroes on Valentine's Day

Sri Lankans celebrate this year Valentine's Day with a new theme. Today, the nation pays their tribute to the War Heroes for their selfless sacrifices on the battlefront.

A series of programs sponsored by the Government including the launching of a 'Friendship Ribbon' to enhance the affection and gratitude of the public towards Security Forces begins today. President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunge will be the first recipient of this ribbon.
