Addressing a delegation of Tamil political parties, the Australian High Commissioner for Sri Lanka, Peter Rowe said that Australia was fully encouraging the Norwegian effort to find a peaceful solution for Sri Lanka's ongoing ethnic conflict. "We see some glimmer of a positive movement towards the beginning of peace talks and we will help in any way possible" the High Commissioner further said. The delegation comprised the Mayor of Jaffna, representatives of the TULF, EPRLF, All Ceylon Tamil Congress, President of the National Estate Workers' Union, a Provincial Councillor and a member of the Democratic Workers Congress.
