SL helps quake hit Gujarat

The Sri Lankan Government has donated US$ 100,000 for homeless Gujaratis in India, the Presidential Secretariat stated yesterday. 

In addition, at the request of President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga over 100,000 items of clothing and a stock of food were also donated. 

The President officially handed over the money and goods to Indian High Commissioner for Sri Lanka, Gopal Krishan Gandhi at the President's House yesterday.
