Help the President to build up a United Sri Lanka – Former President D B Wijetunge

The former President D B Wijetunge told a media representative “ The whole nation should rally round President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunge and help her to bring about the constitutional necessary to build up a united and a prosperous Sri Lanka”, after a “sangika dana” held at Janaranjanaramaya for his 80^th Birthday.  

He highlighted the necessity of constitutional changes for the problems that the citizens of Sri Lanka facing now and the citizens of the country must give their all assistance towards achieving this objective. 

End of the dana ceremony he thanked all organisers and stated “ I have spent my whole life serving the suffering masses and  am happy that I have achieved my achieved my objectives in that respective.”

He further stated the timely need to create, racial, political religious harmony among the people who were now divided into various groups and al the sections of the society must support the President to bring about the constitutional changes which are the prominent sources to remedy the situation in order to achieve prosperity.
