Presidential Committee To Study Estate Trade Union Demands

President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunge has directed that a committee be appointed to look into the demand of a monthly allowance of Rs. 400 to Plantation workers.

This follows representations by Trade Unions that plantation companies have not granted this allowance despite the large profits they made.
