Sri Lanka Air Force celebrates Golden Jubilee

The Sri Lanka Air Force celebrates its Golden Jubilee on March 02. A line of religious ceremonies have been organised to mark this event. The Buddist ceremonies will begin at the Sri Dalada Maligawa, Kandy on March 02. President Chandrika Kumaratunga will inaugurate SLAF Golden Jubilee celebrations commencing at Ratmalana airport on March 09.

The celebrations, including an exhibition where various facets of the Air Force will be projected to the nation will commence from  March 9 at Ratmalana airport.

The events will include a demonstration by the Surya Kiran (Solar Rays) formation flyers of the Indian Air Force, in addition to SLAF acrobatics. SLAF's latest combat jets and many other aircrafts will be on display and will participate in the air show. Among other eventswill be a parade of SLAF troops.

Indian, Bangladesh and Pakistani Air Forces have been invited to add glamour to this event.

The exhibition will continue till March 13^th  and special shows will be held for school children from 2p.m. to 6 p.m daily.
