Germany deports hundreds of Tamils

The German Immigration Ministry has decided to deport Hundreds of Sri Lankan Tamils who have sought asylum in Germany.

The Tamils in Germany have called for a protest demonstration on March 02, 2001 to express their opposition to the anticipated deportations.

It is understood that these Tamils may be deported within the next two months.

Analysts say Britain's decision yesterday to ban the LTTE as a terrorist organisation could lead other countries in the region to follow suite.
