A celebration in the sky –SLAF 50 tomorrow

The Sri Lanka Air Force will celebrate its Golden Jubilee tomorrow at the SLAF Base, Ratmalana. President Kumaratunga is scheduled to inaugurate the ceremony.

Over 1000 SLAF personnel, will parade in all their glory to grace this occasion. The programme will include presidential awards to the SLAF personnel. A special Award of the 50^th Anniversary medal will also be made. 

The SLAF Aircraft will salute to the Nation with a fly past and put on a flying-display and a sky diving demo.

There will also be a flying display by the Indian Air Force ‘Sooriya Kiran’ (Solar Rays) aerobatics team and the ‘Akash Ganga’ (Heavenly River) sky diving team.

A commemorative stamp and a coin are to be issued tomorrow to mark the 50^th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
