Defence Academy offers Master's Degree in Defence Studies

Sri Lanka’s premier Defence Academy – the Sir John Kotalawela Defence Academy, will commence its first Master's Degree programme on March 22.

The Kotalawela Defence Academy, as it is popularly known, was established in 1981 as a Military Academy. The Academy was later elevated to University status in 1988, by an Act of Parliament and commenced awarding Degrees in various disciplines to Cadet Officers selected according to the requirements of the Army, Navy and Air Force. 

According to a Senior Officer of the Kotalawala Defence Academy, the Master's Degree programme has been designed by a team of senior academics and professionals of the three services and reputed universities and higher educational institutions in the country.
