Launch of first-ever Regional Women Entrepreneur Council tomorrow

SAARC countries will launch the first ever Council for Women Entrepreneurs in the region in Colombo tomorrow. Around 60 delegates will attend.

The SAARC Women Entrepreneur Council (SWEC) is expected to promote joint ventures between the women of the region. It will be launched during a four-day Business Trade Fair and Exhibition.

Women from rural Sri Lanka too would be interacting with their regional counterparts to promote business. 

The Women's Chamber of Industry and Commerce (WCIC) of Sri Lanka, which set up the SWEC would act as a facilitator to establish trade chambers in other SAARC countries to form an efficient business network for women in the region.
