Sri Lankan ornamental fish exporter wins Arch of Europe Award

An ornamental fish exporter in Sri Lanka won the prestigious Arch of Europe award this month. The award is made in recognition of commitment to leadership, technology and innovation. The Sri Lankan company was the first one in the world to be recognized for quality and technology in the Aquarium fish sector. Lumbini Aquaria is a Board of Investment (BOI) company and is the pioneer fish exporter in Sri Lanka.

Business Initiative Directions (BID) made the coveted award to Lumbini Aquaria on March 05 in Frankfurt during a ceremony attended by business leaders from 53 countries.

Lumbini Aquaria has also won several awards such as the Grand Champion Trophy consecutively in 1995 and 1997 for the Best Guppy at an international trade show and exhibition in Singapore. In 1999, Lumbini won the Trophy for the Best Platy and two other trophies in the Tuxedo Guppy categories.
