Norwegian Special Envoy Erik Solheim, will be the guest on Lanka Academic Network’s online Question and Answer (Q&A) Forum (www.theacademic.org).

The online session will be available from April 2, through April 30.

The Norwegian government is acting as facilitator to bring the LTTE and government of Sri Lanka to the negotiating table. Solheim has had extensive discussions with government leaders including President Kumaratunga and leaders of political parties in Sri Lanka. Opposition Leader, Ranil Wickremasinghe is due to visit Norway next week.

Solheim had a face-to-face meeting with the LTTE leader Prabhakaran during a visit to the Vanni last year. He has also had discussions with the LTTE theoretician Anton Balasingham.

The Government of Sri Lanka is expected to announce dates for the peace talks before the end of the month.
