A leading global power company that will be establishing a power plant in the country as a solution to the "power shortage" has decided to outsource all its latest IT solutions with software from Sri Lanka. The AES Kelanitissa, a subsidiary company of the American AES Corporation, will be working with the Board of Investment (BOI) to put up the new high-tech power plant using software from the local IT-solutions provider, Informatics (Pvt) Ltd. Informatics will be providing the major software applications based on Industrial and Financial Systems (IFS) Applications Business Software of Sweden. The software will be covering the major aspects of the power plant such as the maintenance, finance and inventory processes and a high-level of quality of service is expected.
