Singapore, this year, will feature Sri Lanka as the newest travel destination for corporate travelers through Dream Alliance, a major outbound tour operator in Singapore. Sri Lanka's Board of Investment and the mission in Singapore are working closely with the Ceylon Tourist Board on this new initiative. The Chairman of the Ceylon Tourist Board Renton de Alwis said that his aim is to promote Sri Lanka as a safe global destination for tourism. Sri Lanka now depends less on its sandy beaches as its sole tourist attraction, but follows the current trends in tourism such as eco-tourism, sports- tourism and also culture tourism, in line with the global demand in the tourist industry.
