Senior Corporate Head, Mahendra Amarasuriya has been appointed the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the newly established Industry Facilitation Forum (IFF). This cabinet approved business forum comes under the purview of the Ministry of Industrial Development. Commenting on the establishment of the IFF, Mr. Amarasuriya said that the forum hoped to remove the bottlenecks faced by small, medium and large-scale industrialists whilst acting as an advisory body to accelerate industrial development. Mr. Amarasooriya is currently the Chairman of the Commercial Bank and United Motors Lanka Ltd. Several top business personalities will act as advisors to the Forum, which is chaired by Minister of Constitutional Affairs and Deputy Minister of Finance Prof. G.L Pieris.
