Sri Lanka’s high calibre human resource is one of the best incentives the country can offer foreigners who wish to invest here, Minister of Industrial Development G L Peiris said. He said the private sector has actively participated in developing human resources for the IT sector, which had enabled the country to offer a high calibre workforce to foreign investors. The minister was addressing a group of potential investors in the United States at a briefing in New York on Tuesday, a ministry statement said yesterday. "Sri Lankans demonstrate a particular aptitude for IT and the government through targeted policy interventions is committed to further develop the quality of human resources in the IT sector and thereby enhance Sri Lanka's attractiveness for investment in the IT sector," the minister said. The Minister was heading a business delegation comprising of senior officials of the Board of Investment (BOI) and several top private sector businessmen to promote investment in the IT sector in Sri Lanka.
