The Commercial Bank of Ceylon, with 82 networked branches around the country has now gone global, the first local bank to do so. The bank's clients can now access their accounts via the Internet. Global Finance Magazine of the U.S.A. rates it as the best bank in Sri Lanka, for the second year running. The bank offers online facilities such as transfer of funds, balance inquiry, status of cheques, stop payment, wire transfers, letter of credit, account history and rates of interest and exchange. The Bank says that customers who wish to access the Commercial Bank website (www.combank.lk) will be provided with Personal Identification Numbers (PIN) from the branches where their accounts are located upon signing an agreement.
